Taking its name from the street in which it is located (miód is the Polish for honey) Honey Hostel is another Kazmierz Hostel aiming at the backpacker & budget market.
Pleasantly decorated, it offers a very homely touch in its lounge & reception area, a real log fire will greet anyone arriving during the colder months. More practically, it offers a washing machine that is free to use for its guests, a definite bonus that saves anyone looking for the nearest laundrette. If you need to iron your clothes afterwards fear not, an iron is provided.
The kitchen area won’t allow any aspiring chefs to make a three course meal, but anyone who wants to make some basic food shouldn’t be disappointed, the kitchen comes equipped with a small electric hob and microwave.
Food wise, the extremely short of cash will be pleased to learn that the hostel offers free bread all day, supplies allowing! Breakfast is included in the price, guests can choose from a selection of meats, cheese, cereals and bread, jam and of course, honey.
Vegetarians may want to choose this hostel based on its close proximity to Momo, a vegetarian restaurant that is something of an institution in Krakow – it’s probably about a 90 second walk to get there.
For those bored on a rainy day, the hostel has its own electronic dartboard, TV, books, DVDs and comfy sofa. Visitors are encouraged to take (and leave) books and log their experiences on BookCrossing.com.
All in all, the Honey Hostel should keep its visitors happy with its combination of friendly service, location, prices and of course….honey.
