Warsztat Restaurant & Cafe

Adresse:
  ul. Izaaka 3

(EN) Normally, in terms of travel guides, describing a restaurant is often based around telling people more about what they can eat (more to follow), but with Warsztat it’s best to start with the place, the design, the piano embedded in the floor…

In English, the word Warsztat means workshop and the original owner wanted the place to be a “workshop” full of retired instruments that had seen better days. The new owners took that on board, bought some paint and turned the restaurant into a small work of art.

The first thing that a visitor might notice on entering Warsztat is the piano keyboard bar. The keyboard, despite not being real, somehow entices people to try and play it. The musical theme is continued throughout, the restaurant is decorated with trombones, saxophones, accordions, a cello that hangs from the celing, and of course, the remnants of a piano that leave the keyboard exposed in the floor.

Warsztat’s menu features a bit of everything, pastas, risotto, fish, meat, salads & pizza. Polish food is also available such as pierogi (dumplings) and rosol, a clear chicken soup. Toast with a variety of toppings can be bought all day which makes Warsztat a suitable choice for a quick snack.

Warsztat opens early at 9am and also has a breakfast menu - muesli and yoghurt, porridge, scrambled eggs or of course, toast.

Worth coming, if only to take a look at that piano…
